- Abstract
Most GLAMWIKI-related activities have been focused on getting content on Wikimedia projects: wouldn’t it be nice to give something back?
Museums struggle with adding rich, multilingual context about their works using new media. Most background information is still provided by text signs. Why can’t we use Wikimedia content to enrich and inform the visitor?
In this session Hay Kranen will demonstrate a new mobile-friendly, open source web application, commissioned by Wikimedia Nederland, that offers a curated selection of Wikimedia for museum visitors. Dutch museums have been using this app ‘on the floor’, and their viewpoint will be presented as well.

- How we cooperated with museums.
- How we approached the development process.
- Why some museums participated and some didn’t.
- Conclusions of user trails.
