Hackathon 2011/en

Uit Wikimedia

Wikipedia will be 10 years old in 2011. For this special event, the Images for the Future organization is organizing a number of activities. On Saturday, January 15, we'll celebrate the anniversary with a discussion of Wikipedia and drinks in the Amsterdam Historical Museum. Here, the AHM will donate its digital collection to Wikipedia. See Wikipedia 10 years for the entire program (in Dutch).

We're also organizing a Wikimedia coding event ("hack-a-ton") on January 14th. The projects accomplished during this event will be presented to the board of Wikimedia Netherlands and other interested parties after the general meeting of members of Wikimedia Netherlands on January 15. It will be followed by a reception to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Wikipedia.

During this Hackaton, we'll work on together on the Wikimedia API and tools to facilitate the use of digitized cultural heritage. Other projects are welcome too. See #Topics for possible topics.
